A brief outline of our daily timetable is attached here: Year 1 Daily outline
Week 4
From week 4, home learning will look slightly different to the previous weeks. We are going to incorporate some more Maths as there are several areas we would normally be revisiting during the summer term. Please remember to also read everyday. This might be listening to your child read, reading together or you reading to them. Spellings will continue to be tested every Friday.
Our new home learning will now look like and we’ll upload the daily Phonics sessions that are being created by ‘Letters and Sounds’:
Monday- Number
Tuesday- Maths and Reading
Wednesday- Maths and English
Thursday- Foundation
Friday- Maths, Grammar (writing) & Spelling test!

Friday
English
Today we would like you to think about question marks. We already know that questions often start with: who, what, where, when, why, how and they have a question mark ? at the end. We also know that a question is when you want to find out something e.g. ‘Why do ducks not have arms?’ and a statement is when you are stating something e.g. ‘The dragon had a long, scaly back.’
Your challenge today is to write a list of questions you would want answered before you go on holiday. They might be questions like:
Where are we going?
Will I need sun cream?
How many inflatables can I take?
Don’t forget your question mark at the end!
Maths
To consolidate our knowledge of adding on a number line and addition using partitioning, we would like you to have a go at these word problems. Use the skills you already know to calculate them. Make sure you read or listen to them carefully and you can always use your counters or number lines to calculate them.
