We’re all buzzing about being Spelling Bees this week. Well done everyone! 👏🏻

Each time we’ve read a book in class we photocopy it and put it on the front of our classroom doors. It’s getting a bit busy!

The new phonemes were learnt last week were:
Split digraph a_e (ai)- cake, shake, make
Split digraph u_e- cube, flute, huge
ir (er)- girl, skirt, dirt
ew- grew, flew, blew

This afternoon both Y1 classes were controlling a Beebot and instructing it to move. They used the real Beebots but also used the free app on the iPads to challenge themselves. They were definitely having to use their ‘logical reasoning’ to work out how to move the Beebot but also debug their code if they got it wrong! Lots of brainache this afternoon!

Our Kindness Advent was:

This year the Y1 team have decided to promote the importance of ‘giving & being kind’ this Christmas. Each Y1 class has an advent calendar filled with lots of kind acts which we will be sharing with you daily for the children (& adults) to complete. I’m also sharing it on the school Facebook page if other families want to join us too.
Today is ‘Day 1’ and below is the act of kindness that your child will need to do. Feel free to comment and keep us informed if your child completed it. 😁

Well done to all of these lovely children that got their spellings correct this week.
