Year one demonstrated some excellent gymnastics. We explored different ways of travelling and balancing using the ideas from Roald Dahl’s book The Giraffe, the Pelli and Me.

💛 Children in Need 💛
We’ve had a lovely day raising money for Children in Need. We’ve had 10p lines, cake sales, teddy bears, guessing how many sweeties in the jar, duck races etc! We’ve talked lots about the Children in Need charity and the difference that their donations make. Thank you to everyone that made this possible.

We ended our week by inviting our parents and grandparents in to share our stories with them. We have been authors and illustrators! 👏🏻
The parents, grandparents & siblings also stayed behind for our end of day story time. Can any of our visitors remember the name of the author whose books we have been reading? 📚

We have been looking at totals using partitioning. We used the cubes to find out how to make our totals. We really enjoyed this practical experience!
Can your child tell you how to partition a total at home? Please comment if they do, we love hearing about them carrying on their learning at home. 😊 
*Instructions*
This half term we are looking at instructions, focusing on their layout and the language used. Over the next few days, please can you add any instructions you have followed onto our padlet. This could be instructions for building a Lego model, playing a board game, baking a cake etc. We will share these in class on Monday 11th November.
