We are currently looking to alternative sounds. These sounds have the graphemes (letters) that we already know but they make a different sound.

Last week:

i- find, mind, kind

o- cold, gold, old

c (soft c) mice, rice, icy (c makes the s sound when followed by i, e or y)

g (soft g) huge, gem, age ( g makes the j sound when followed by i, e or y)

This week:

ch- school, Christmas, chemist

u- put, push, playful

ow- blow, flow, slow
