We are currently looking to alternative sounds. These sounds have the graphemes (letters) that we already know but they make a different sound.
Last week:
i- find, mind, kind
o- cold, gold, old
c (soft c) mice, rice, icy (c makes the s sound when followed by i, e or y)
g (soft g) huge, gem, age ( g makes the j sound when followed by i, e or y)
This week:
ch- school, Christmas, chemist
u- put, push, playful
ow- blow, flow, slow

This morning we looked at the art work of Italian artist Gieseppe Arcimboldo. He was famous for creating portraits of people using fruits, vegetables, flowers, books and fish! We appraised some of his famous pieces by saying what we liked and disliked about his work. We then had a go at creating our own fruity number by using images of ourselves with fruit and vegetables! Watch this space…

This morning we all got to meet Father Christmas. Some children got to visit him in his grotto and others were able to spend their pennies at Elfridges.
Thank you to ACES for organising such a lovely morning for the children.
