Last week we had Warburtons in to bake some bread, but how much could the children remember? Today the children had to work in groups to order the instructions before having a go at writing them themselves. Some children listened well and worked well together as a team, some needed a little reassurance and a reminder to listen to their friends if they didn’t initially agree with their friend’s choice etc.
Well done to this week’s children that got all of their spellings correct.
We had such a lovely afternoon yesterday. We met our new reading buddies and found out lots about them. Each week the Y4 pupils are going to support the Y1 children with their reading. We can’t wait for next week already!

oe (oa sound): toe, goes, dominoes
oy (oi sound): boy, ahoy, enjoy
ey (ee sound): key, honey, jockey
ew : screw, blew, chew

ph (ff sound) e.g. phone, dolphin, alphabet
ou (ow sound) e.g. Trout, muse, cloud
au (or sound) e.g. launch, autumn, saucer
Please look out for them in your child’s reading books this week. 
We ended our week by inviting our parents and grandparents in to share our stories with them. We have been authors and illustrators! 👏🏻
The parents, grandparents & siblings also stayed behind for our end of day story time. Can any of our visitors remember the name of the author whose books we have been reading? 📚
