This week we had our first ever go at Edgy Maths. The children work together in small groups and try and solve math word problems. They have to be able to verbally explain their methods and come up with the correct answer. Each correct answer earns them points and together it gets quite competitive! The children worked well together in teams 🎄🎅🏻

Owls have had a great morning making bread with a visitor from Warburtons. Before we started, we looked at how bread is made in factories and how to properly wash our hands . We then we had a go and making our own bread rolls 🍞🥖
All of this week we have been working on our addition and subtraction. We’ve been rearranging the numbers in the number sentences to make fact families. We took our learning outside today to build on what we already know. We each had a number and had to run around the playground. When our teacher blew the whistle we had to match up with a friend. With the two numbers we had to write down all the addition and subtraction calculations. Here are some examples. Some of us used leaves to help us to work out the total if the numbers were too big.
