Task 3:
Using another writing stimulus inside your green book that was sent home, can you answer the question fully? Remember to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. We have included a letter formation & tricky word spelling mat for you here to refer to. It doesn’t matter which writing activity you want to do first. Remember to practise your phonemes and tricky words and also do some reading.
Maths
Task 3: Counting in 2s.
Have a look for items that come in pairs around the house. We have already learnt how counting in 2s can help us count items quicker, but we have to be careful! Can they remember how to count in 2s? Why not get them to sort the socks in the laundry. Can they count them out and put them into pairs? What do they notice about the numbers when we count in 2s? Can they tell you what an even number is?
This is a great game to colour in 2s, you can also use it for 5s and 10s.

Similar to the way in which the Active task worked. Plenty to keep you busy. Maybe do one today and then save the others for the weeks ahead.

Task 2
Have a look for different weighted items at home. Have a conversation about comparing weights and how to measure using grams. Order those items from heaviest to lightest and then weigh them to see if your ordering was correct. Don’t forget to talk about how different sizes of packaging do not always mean they are heavier or lighter.
This is a great game for supporting the understanding of balancing scales. It will also tell them how to balance the scales and what that means for the weight of those objects.

ACTIVE Task
See how many of these you can complete. Maybe you’ll do 4 and work your way down the grid,or how about doing 5 and working your way across? Or maybe you’ll get BINGO and do all of them. You can do as few or as many as you like. Enjoy and remember to add any pictures to the ‘Keeping in Touch’ Padlet.

Task 1:
We would like you to use your knowledge of money have a go at labelling items around the house with a cost. E.g. This car costs 15p. What coins could I use to buy this? How much change would I get from 20p/50p? If you have some real coins, maybe you could set up and shop and buy some special treats from your grown ups?
